TWS 2008: A Success

Pictorial of the TWS 2008 conference in Tel Aviv.

Today I attended the TWS 2008 conference in Tel Aviv. It was a success. Guy Kawasaki did not appear even though he headlined, but other than that, for this ‘Web 2.0 Bear Market’ that it is, a worthwhile time was to be had by all. It was not expensive at ~$50 per head, and the food was great and plentiful. At times people spoke during the speeches but to me that added to a semi-casual atmosphere, and there were still quiet spots everywhere. English was the preferred language. I would have liked to see the more unknown startups I saw cruising around have at least 2 minutes each on stage to present. The winners were WikiAnswers, Dapper, Wix, Worklight, HiveSight, Qoof, Mo’Minis, Kaltura, Nucomony and MocoSpace.

Below is my pictorial:

The venue was the laidback ‘Prime Sagol,’ at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds, a 10 minute or so trip from the center of town.
